RUTX50 is the new Industrial 5G router from Teltonika. It provides a high speed LTE 5G Internet connection using a 5G SIM card inserted into the SIM slot of the router. The embedded 5G Modem provides the connection to the 5G network for lightning fast 5G mobile broadband. This is delivered to the LAN via high speed, Gigabit Ethernet for wired connectivity and the RUTX50 router has built-in 802.11AC WiFi 5 to provide high speed WiFi hotspot for wireless users.
The RUTX50 router from Teltonika provides a reliable, secure and practical solution and with the familiar RUTOS used by hundreds of thousands of customers with the popular 4G router range (RUT950, RUT955, RUT240, RUTX09, RUTX11, RUTX12, RUTX14) users will find the only difference is the super fast 5G Internet connection. Of course you might also notice the price because the cost of 5G modems is still pretty high so expect to pay a premium for the new Teltonika RUTX50 5G Router.
The RUTX50 has 4 x SMA Female ports on the side for the connection of the supplied 4 x 5G Antennas (elbow joint, 5G paddle antenna) so this router can support the connection of alternative antennas. This means the RUTX50 can utilise a wide range of 4×4 MiMo antennas dependant upon the installation.
For example, if using this router in a cabinet then you may need a hole mounted, dome or puck 5G antenna, or for installation inside a building then an outdoor 5G antenna such as a directional or omni-directional 4×4 MiMo 5G Antenna to ensure the optimum 5G performance for this industrial 5G router.
Teltonika are best known for their RUT950, RUT255 and RUT240 Industrial 4G routers which have recently been upgraded and are now known as RUT241, RUT951 and RUT956. These have proved popular in many industries to provide reliable and secure 4G Internet connectivity for remote management and monitoring. Teltonika expended the range with their 4G routers for business with the RUTX range and the popular RUTX09, RUTX11 and RUTX12 and Teltonika is developing a new range of lower cost 4G and 5G routers including the RUT200, RUT901 and RUT906 4G Routers and the RUTM50 5G router.
We stock a range of 4G and 5G antennas suitable for use with the full range of Teltonika 4G and 5G routers. Many industrial routers are installed in situations where the router is indoor or inside an enclosure that reduces the 4G/5G network signal when using the supplied antennas connected directly to the router. By installing an alternative antenna outdoors or on top or the side of a kiosk or cabinet can help the router receive the best available signal for optimum performance and reliability.
Here is a screenshot of the RUTX50 status page showing the
We can see from the above that the router uses the RG501Q-EU 5G Modem.
Quectel RG501Q-EU 5G Module is a 5G Sub-6 GHz module optimized specially for IoT and M2M cases delivering max data rates up to 5 Gbps downlink and 900 Mbps uplink and supporting both 5G NSA and SA modes in LGA form factor.
Quectel RG501Q-EU 5G Module is a 5G Sub-6 GHz LGA module optimized specially for IoT and M2M applications. By adopting the 3GPP Rel-15 technology, the module delivers maximum data rates up to 5 Gbps downlink and 900 Mbps uplink. Moreover, it supports both 5G NSA and SA modes, Option 3x, 3a, 3 and Option 2 network architectures, making it backwards compatible with 4G/3G network. Since it is pin-to-pin compatible with Quectel LTE-A Cat 12 EG512R-EA module. Quectel RG501Q-EU could meet customers’ different application demands for high speed, large capacity, low latency, and high reliability etc.
Apart from them, A rich set of Internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces (USB 2.0/3.0/3.1, PCIe 3.0, RGMII, PCM, UART, etc.) and abundant functionalities (USB drivers for Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Linux and Android) extend the applicability of the module to a wide range of IoT and M2M applications such as business router, home gateway, STB, industrial laptop, consumer laptop, industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC and video surveillance.
